Group tryouts are Cancelled for 2020 - Please read

Rapids FC Families,

We hope that you and your families are safe and healthy during this challenging time. As you may have heard, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused several other Soccer Clubs to alter the process to conduct formal tryouts.

Based on the current guidance from GA soccer, the Office of the Governor, the GA Department of Public Health and the CDC regarding social distancing and with the health, safety, and well-being of our players, Rapids FC has also decided to forego the traditional tryout process for the 2020-2021 season.

How will tryouts be conducted this year?

If you played Academy, Athena, or Classic Soccer with us last season, you will receive a call from your old coach.  At this time we are simply asking for verbal commitments to playing fall soccer with Rapids FC.  Once we get all the commitments, we will begin constructing teams based on previous playing experience.

What if I did not play Academy, Athena, or Classic Soccer last season?  How will I be able to tryout?

We welcome former Rec players and New players to tryout.  For anyone who is new to the club, or who needs to be seen for a tryout, we will do a 1v1 tryout with one of our coaches following all guidelines for COVID-19 safety.  We will use our aforementioned tryout dates to conduct these tryouts.  Please contact our executive director if this applies to you at [email protected]

Do I still need to register online for tryouts at rapidsfutbolclub.com?

YES!  Everyone that verbally commits to play, must go to our website and register as soon as possible.  Registration closes on FRIDAY MAY 29th at MIDNIGHT.

We realize this is not an ideal scenario or a perfect solution, but we are striving to put our bestfoot forward during such a challenging and unique time. Our focus remains on providing a balance between providing a safe and healthy environment for our players while also preparing for a successful season.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your coach or other RFC staff member and we will gladly assist you in any way we can.
