12U-19U RIAS

RIAS Recreational Soccer
Games on the Weekends - U12 Size 4 soccer ball, U14 and above requires size 5 soccer ball
The RIAS program is a Georgia state organized league, where players from our club compete against other clubs/teams around our area. RIAS is gender specific (Not COED), and is offered to both girls and boys.  Practice is usually twice a week.  Games are typically on Saturdays and the occasional Sunday.  No tryouts are required for RIAS soccer.  However we need enough to sign up to create teams:

U12- Max of 14 players.  These teams are on a first come first served basis, a wait list will form for those who sign up after the 14th participant.
U14 and Up - Minimum of 14 players with a max of 18.

Click: Registration for instructions on how to register.

Registration fees cover the cost of site Directors, fields, field maintenance, field equipment, insurance and registration through GA Soccer.

Uniforms for 12U-19U include two jerseys (Navy and White/Gray) with the Rapids FC logo, navy shorts and socks.

Shin guards are mandatory for practice and games for all players. Players must provide their own shin guards and soccer ball. Sizes of soccer ball needed:
10U-12U age groups use size #4
14U-19U use size #5

Coaches get to pick their practice days and times, so we do not know when coaches will practice till after teams have been formed. We want to be flexible to our coaches first, as they are volunteering their time and have busy schedules just like the rest of us. We will try to work with families who have practice conflicts, but we cannot make any guarantees.

Games for 12-19U are schedule by Georgia Soccer. Games can be played on both Saturdays and Sundays. Coaches may elect to do pre or post season tournaments at additional cost.

The recreational teams are coached by parents and volunteers. The only requirement is that our volunteers have a love for working with kids, enjoy helping kids and have a desire to be involved in the lives of children! Soccer experience is not a coaching requirement! There are many educational resources that can show the way. Our coaches are encouraged to get coaching licenses, which help coaches learn how to coach and what is age-appropriate. Rapids FC strives to place every child on a team who wants to play, but we can only form as many teams as we have coaches for. Not only do we support our volunteer coaches, the success of the club relies heavily on families volunteering! The volunteer coach is one of the most integral parts of Rapids FC and we value their dedication and commitment to ensuring that our kids are safe and having fun.
